Just a bit delinquent in reporting, but the last month has not been fun. Hit a medical issue that was a little bothersome. Hopefully it was nothing serious and has passed.
The dog days are definitely with us. The Reds are still in hiding, and the Trout are scarce. One good point is the small Snook are making a comeback. These are the 10 to 12 inch future monsters.
Took a trip to the East section, Vero South a few weeks back . There was a rumor that there were real grass flats. I have been told where to fish, Round Island and a few other choice locations. This was for fun and exploration. Found real grass, made the trip worth while. Could use a few blades in my area. Managed a 21 inch Flounder and a 17 inch Trout. Not great, but fun. The area around Johns Island still does not have any grass. The Trout have been scarce, but fair sized. Last week I boated an a 21 inch Trout that was super skinny, then later in the day pulled one that was 25 inches and would have made the board in most tournaments. This week it was a 22.5 inch Trout, definitely was eating good.
