Default What's the best tasting saltwater fish?

Being a soon to be newbie to saltwater fishing, I would like to hear comments on the best tasting saltwater fish to fish for.
I plan on fishing in the Florida Gulf around Englewood.
I do like Mahi Mahi!
Do people eat Bonefish?
Lets hear what you think!

I agree with you on the Mahi Mahi,
If you ever get to the West coast of Canada, get yourself some Salmon or Halibut. You will like it!!!

Although it's now considered overfished, my vote would be for Patagonian Toothfish

Default Cooked versus Sashimi

Cooked: Small Mahi Mahi; just barely cooked.

Raw: Sashimi: (If you bring in a tail wrapped or deceased blue marlin) try.......
fresh blue marlin heart with a very cold Venezuelan beer. It has a slight salty taste, is absolutely as good as the best tenderloin you have ever had; and is a nice way to complement a beer also!

Regards, Doc

Default Oddly enough...

The lowly monk-fish....make sure your grandmom ain't around. Seriously though, don't try it...it's sooo good you'll wear a groove in the pavement in front of your favorite fish monger. Tilefish is a close second. Cobia, third.
Funny how all these fish eat crustaceans for a living probably.
Certainly nothing wrong with dolphin or wahoo...right now, I'd swim the english channell for a slice of either....both are no-doubt excellent.
Monkfish= poor-mans lobster, hence the favoritism. Baked for 15 min then broiled and watched for the last few moment untill just right. Warning, habit forming.
Give me few conchs any day though.

Two words:

Red Snapper. It just doesn't get any better in my book.
